Pink Floyd Comes Together
A concert for Africa brings British band Pink Floyd together after 25 years. The band that rocked us for decades with songs like, Another Brick In The Wall, Learning To Fly, Dogs of War and Comfortably Numb are reuniting after 24 years since their split in 1981. The group consisting of guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, keyboard player Richard Wright and bass player Roger Waters (also the group’s founder) are scheduled to perform at the Live 8 concert in London’s Hyde Park on July 2nd. The concert is an attempt to put pressure on the G8 industrialised countries to forgive African debt and increase aid budgets, "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world. Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile," BBC quoted Gilmour as saying. The show, organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure will also feature Madonna, REM, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams. Fans in UK, to win tickets to this show, all you need to do is send your answer in text message format to their multiple choice question: Which city is nearest to the G8 summit in July? A) Berlin, B) Moscow, C) Edinburgh. Text-message your answer to 84599 and you’ll be on your way to the most memorable concert ever.
