Kelly Brook is the Sexiest Woman in the World

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the sexiest of them all? Kelly Brook, according to British magazine FHM.

Three cheers to Kelly Brook! The British damsel who won the prize for the world's sexiest woman can afford to smile. For good reason: last year, it was none less than Britney Spears who walked away with the FHM magazine's award, selected from aspirants from Albania to Antarctica to Americas. 

British model, actor and TV presenter, 25-year old Kelly Brook walked away with the prize, leaving more well-known names like Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Carmen Electra and Christina Aguilera far behind. Let's take a, ahem.. close look.

At this year's FHM magazine awards, Britney slid to No.6 position. Does impending motherhood have anything to do with that? We wonder! 

Kelly claims she had the archetypal "pushy" mom, who drove her to modelling at the age of three! Baby Brook attended a beauty contest for Pears, but the jury was not impressed.

You can't hide your beauty under a bushel, Socrates said. (Was it Socrates or someone else?) Brook Beauty hit the headlines for the first time at the age of 13, when she was crowned Medway Carnival Princess. Kelly was also selected as a model for an advertising campaign for a flooring company. 

Beauty, alas, did not bring many bucks home. So, Kelly the Wise decided to work as a waitress in a local restaurant to supplement her income.

After her studies, Kelly Brook went to Britain's Italia Conte stage school for 3 years. Afterwards, she kicked off her career as a model. The Lee jeans assignment was the first in Kelly Brook's professional modelling career. Kelly also appeared in promos for Renault Megane, Walkers and Piz Buin. British tabloid The Star gave a helpful push to her career in the initial years, and Kelly posters used to regularly appear in The Star. The paper still publishes her pictures quite a lot. Now, Kelly Brook is featured in many prominent British magazines like FHM, Maxim etc. 

Kelly Brook first appeared on TV in an ad for Sure deodorant, along with presenter Jonathan Ross. Apart from TV commercials, Kelly Brook has appeared in MTV, Babewatch (Granada) and The T-spot (Trouble TV). Kelly has co-hosted several programmes on telly too.

Kelly Brook's big break came in 1999, when she presented 'The Big Breakfast'. Later, she was sacked from the show, for mysterious reasons. Kelly Brook was soon promoting Triumph International range of bras. Gigantic billboards featuring Kelly in lingerie cropped up in the cities. 

Kelly was soon back on telly, presenting MTV Select and MTV Asia. the tinsel town was next in line, with minor roles in movies like 'Sorted' and 'Ripper'.

In US, where she sought work along with fiance Jason Statham, Kelly Brook was hired by Warner Brothers for 'The (Mis)Adventures of Fiona Plum'. Warner liked her and Kelly bagged four-episode role in the series 'Smallville', set during the college days of Superman. In Canada, Kelly Brook took the part of Claire in the independent movie 'Absolon'.
