The 3 Minute Makeup

Want to look presentable in just under five minutes?

Feel like something the cat dragged in and no time to camouflage? Or just too lazy to spend time infront of the mirror putting on the war paint? Here's help! Read on and you will discover how you can apply just a few cosmetics and feel superb running into someone you know!

Start with a clean face

It’s a good idea to start with a squeaky clean face. Wash your face and wipe clean last night’s makeup leftovers. Now with a clean face, massage in some moisturizer with at least 15 SPF. Your skin will look dewy and less tired.

Pick up that concealer

Forget diamonds, these days a concealer is a women’s best friend! But be sure you have one that is specifically for the under eye area. They are being made much better these days with lots of ingredients to smooth those pesky lines and they cover better without looking dry.

Add a little concealer to the area right at the corner of the eye by the side of your nose. If there is a puffy area, stay clear of that and just pat the concealer into the circle under the eye. Dab a little around the corners of the mouth, the sides of the nostrils where we tend to be a little red and any blemish that needs some covering. Dust compact powder lightly over face.

Lipstick

Use your lipstick as a multi-stick! Use it on the cheeks, lips and eyes in a shade that gives the impression of a healthy skin. (Usually a light shade of your regular blusher that simulates a flushed look works fine) Using your finger or a brush, dab it on the apples of the cheeks, the eyelid blending up to the brow bone and the lips.

Use Mascara and eyeliner

Apply a single coat to the top lashes. Use waterproof mascara since most eye makeup removers will take it off easily and there will be less chance of it smudging or flaking during the day.

A black eyeliner for dark skin and brown/blue for fair skins does wonders for the eye. The mascara and the eyeliner together give you an instant face lift!

Gel for the hair

If you have long hair, apply some gel and brush your hair up gathering it at the back with a clip or pretty barrette. For short hair use gel or mousse and tussle. If you are out of gel, try mixing water and a little hair oil in your hands. Run it through your hair and you will see that it works just fine and gives you the same sleek look.

Voila! The transformation is complete! Cheers to a better looking you!
